New circuits to visit Machu Picchu

Starting June 1, 2024, Peru’s Ministry of Culture will implement new circuits for visiting the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, giving visitors the opportunity to explore this wonder from different perspectives.   • Circuit 1 or Panoramic Circuit
  • Route 1-A: Machupicchu Mountain Route
  • Circuit 3 or Royalty Circuit
  • Route 3-B: Designed route
Circuit 4: Machupicchu Llaqta and Waynapicchu

*It should be noted that circuits in force until May 31, 2024 have equivalence only in certain circuits in force since June 1, 2024.

Capacity and entry times: Plan your visit in advance!

To guarantee an optimal experience and preserve the integrity of Machu Picchu, new regulations have been established regarding capacity and entry times.

Maximum capacity:

  • From June 1 to October 15, 2024 and from December 30 to 31, 2024 (high season): 5,600 visitors per day.
  • In low season: 4,500 visitors per day.

Check-in time:

  • The time of entry to each circuit will be stated on your entrance ticket.
  • There will be a tolerance of 30 minutes for entry in low season and 45 minutes in high season.
  • After this period, entry will not be allowed, except for duly demonstrated reasons of force majeure or fortuitous event.
