Discover the magic of sport fishing in Tambopata, Amazon! Our fishing destinations are often in areas we prefer not to talk too much about; secret streams, hidden lakes and hard to find holes that we only share with our clients. These places are not for everyone: some require extra effort to reach, but the rewards are unmatched. Dare to join us, and we will guide you through the hidden wonders of the great Peruvian Amazon, Tambopata and its places that few is lucky enough to know!
There are many rivers on our route (Tambopata River, Madre de Dios River, Malinoski River) and many streams, creeks, lakes and streams, which makes this route much more fishable.
Important note: Catch and release is the practice in sport fishing or recreational fishing because that is how conservation fishing works. After catching, the fish are unhooked and returned to the water before experiencing any injury or exhaustion.
Itinerary
SPORT FISHING IN THE AMAZON TAMBOPATA 4 days
1st Day: Puerto Maldonado Airport – Tambopata River Lodge
Reception at Padre Aldamiz Airport in the city of Puerto Maldonado, capital of the department of Madre de Dios, which is located in the southern jungle of Peru.
Transfer to Tambopata River Lodge (two hours by car and 25 minutes by boat)
After lunch in the afternoon, we will give the equipments and start the activities.
Dinner and overnight in Tambopata River Lodge.
2nd,3rd: Full Fishing days
These will be days of fishing for the different species of fish that we will find, such as:
- Sungaro: tigrinus Brachyplatystoma
- Paco: piaractus brachypomus
- Doncella: corsi julis
- Tigris Sungaro: Pseudoplatystoma (Tigris catfish)
- Raya: batoidea
- Anguila: electrophorus electrics
- Bagre: pimelodus blochil
- Canero: vandellia cirrhosa
- Chambira: hydrolocus sconberoides
- Gamitana: colossona macropomun (Blackfin pacu)
- Piro:Ptedoras Granulosus
- Achacubo: sorbí mychthys planiceps

4th Day: Return to Puerto Maldonado City and Transfer to Airport.

Packing List
We recommend carrying only the luggage necessary for the days of the tour. Large backpacks with equipment that are not necessary for the expedition should be left in the city of Puerto Maldonado (at your hotel or our main office).
