Vivencial Tour Amazon Tambopata 3 days

Our expedition begins at 8:00 a.m., when we depart from Puerto Maldonado on a shared family boat heading to the Baltimore community. The journey, approximately six hours long, will take us through the Tambopata River, allowing us to experience the daily life of the riverside dwellers who use these waters as their main means of transport. During the trip, we will make several stops to drop off locals returning to their communities after stocking up on essential goods in the city, such as sugar, salt, oil, and milk.

As we navigate, we will admire the lush Amazonian flora and fauna, observing various species of birds, monkeys, and other wildlife that inhabit this jungle. The vastness of the river and the pristine nature surrounding us will allow us to connect with the pure essence of the Amazons.

We will arrive at the Baltimore community in the afternoon, where we will be welcomed by a local family. Here, we will get to know their home and learn about their customs, beliefs, and ways of life in the jungle. We will also receive instructions on the necessary precautions for safe living in this natural environment.

After settling in, we will enjoy an authentic Amazons traditional dinner prepared with local ingredients. To end the day, we will meet with the locals to hear fascinating stories and legends passed down through generations. The night in the jungle will envelop us with its sounds and mysticism, offering a unique experience before resting in this remote corner of Tambopata.

We will start the day with a nutritious breakfast, made with fresh jungle products, perfect for recharging energy before immersing ourselves in the community’s daily activities.

Our first experience will be in the field, where we will participate in the traditional agricultural labor of the Amazons. We will learn about the cultivation and harvesting of local products like manioc (yuca), plantains, papayas, and corn, which are essential to the diet of the region’s inhabitants. We will also help feed the community’s domestic animals, such as chickens, ducks, pigs, and cows.

Later, we will explore the ancestral knowledge of the jungle by identifying and collecting medicinal plants, used by locals to treat various ailments and strengthen health naturally.

In the afternoon, we will practice artisanal fishing in nearby rivers, using traditional methods to catch fish for local consumption. This activity will help us understand the importance of fishing in the diet and economy of the community.

To complete the day, we will visit neighboring riverside families, who will welcome us into their homes to share their stories, customs, and life experiences in the jungle.

We will end the day with a homemade Amazons dinner, prepared with fresh ingredients obtained during the day. We will spend another night in the family home, immersed in the tranquility of the Amazons and surrounded by the nighttime sounds of the jungle.

After a final Amazonian breakfast, we will say goodbye to the family that hosted us and gave us this unique experience in the jungle. Grateful for the hospitality received, we will begin our journey back.

We will board a riverboat for an hour-long ride on the Tambopata River, enjoying the last natural landscapes and the serenity of the jungle. Upon arriving at the Filadelfia community, we will change transportation and continue by land to the city of Puerto Maldonado.

Upon reaching our final destination, we will coordinate the transfer to the airport or bus terminal, depending on each traveler’s itinerary.
