Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Pick up at the Airport

At the indicated time, we will be at the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco, to transfer you to your hotel. This day has to be exclusive for acclimatization because Cusco is located in the Peruvian Andes at 3400masl.

Day 2: Sacred Valley

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start with the excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visit emblematic places such as Chincheros with texitleras women who will demonstrate alpaca wool work, then we will have a guided tour in Moras and the salt mines of Maras, lunch is scheduled in Urubamba. (buffet style), in the afternoon exploration of the Inca city Ollantaytambo, after resting we will leave on the Expedition train in the evening from Ollantaytambo > Aguas Calientes.

Day 3: Machu Picchu

After breakfast at the hotel in Aguas Calientes, we will ascend by bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu, for 2 hours we will have a guided tour of Machu Picchu to explore its temples, squares, and iconic structures along its terraces. People who have booked in advance Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain can do it after the visit to the Llaqta. Free time to enjoy the place on your own.

* Return by train from Aguas Calientes > Ollantaytambo, bus to Cusco and transfer to the hotel.

Day 4: Humantay Lagoon and trip to Puerto Maldonado.

Early departure from Cusco, the bus will take us to Soraypampa after breakfast in the town of Mollepata, full of energy we will start the hike of almost 2 hours to the Humantay Lagoon. Here we will have time for photographs and explanations of our guide, the return to Cusco will be in the afternoon after taking the buffet lunch in Mollepata.

* In the evening, we will transfer to the bus terminal in Cusco to take a night bus to Puerto Maldonado.

Day 5: Tambopata Rainforest Tour

Arrive in Puerto Maldonado in the morning, where the Lorenzo Expeditions team will be waiting for us to transfer us to the river port and travel by boat on the Tambopata River to the Lodge in the jungle of the Tambopata Reserve, we will be welcomed by a delicious typical jungle drink, Practically we will arrive to have lunch and a break will serve to start our afternoon excursion through the jungle to explore the flora and fauna in a primary forest on the way to the observation tower of more than 50 meters high, at night we will go in search of caimans, returning for dinner.

Day 6: Macaw Clay Lick Tour and return to Puerto Maldonado.

The next day we will leave very early (5 am) we will navigate the Tambopata River passing through the Tambopata Reserve in search of the Collpa Chuncho where hundreds of macaws and parrots come to feed on the clay to eliminate the toxins that are in their daily food. This day’s breakfast will be outdoors in front of the parrot’s clay lick, we will return by the Tambopata River to the Lodge, where we will have lunch, and in the afternoon we will return to the city of Puerto Maldonado.
Passengers will be transferred to Padre Aldamiz airport in the city of Puerto Maldonado or to the bus terminal.

For the second and third day of the tour, we recommend carrying only the luggage necessary for the Sacred Valley + Machupicchu tour with an overnight stay in Aguas Calientes. Large backpacks with equipment that is not necessary for the expedition should be left in the city of Cusco, either at your hotel or at our main office.

1. Huayna Picchu

The cost of the ticket is $60 dollars per person.

Huayna Picchu is a mountain within the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu, it is a 45-minute hike to the top.

To purchase this additional must notify us at least 2 months in advance due to high demand, schedules and details of your visit to this site will be confirmed in the previous meeting we will have.

The cost of the ticket is $60 dollars per person.

Travel Insurance

We recommend that you purchase travel insurance. If you become ill or injured while away from home, you may be reimbursed for treatment provided as a result of a covered medical emergency during your trip.

Pre-trip meeting

The day before departure on the 6-day tour, a mandatory pre-trip briefing is scheduled at 6:00 pm at your Hotel in Cusco. You will meet with your guide, who will provide you with detailed information about your trek, a list of what you need to bring, rental equipment, or general questions.

How can I access Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu mountain?
To climb one of the two mountains, you must purchase the entrance ticket in advance. Huaynapicchu has an additional cost of 60 USD per person, and it is recommended to book tickets at least 3 months in advance. If you wish to book the entrance ticket for Huaynapicchu, please contact our reservations team, or you can also book on the official website of the Ministry of Culture at: https://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/. Please note that sometimes the website does not work, and sometimes it might be complicated to buy your ticket online.
