We will start at 9:30 am from the city of Pto. Maldonado, from here we will have 2 hours by car, the first part will be by paved road and the second part will be by bridle path until we reach the Tambopata River. The boat will be waiting for us to take us for 20 minutes up river until we arrive to our Lodge “Colpas Tambopata Inn” during this first stretch we will have good chances of spotting capybaras and many shorebirds along the river bank, arriving at the lodge we will get a refreshing welcome drink.

In the afternoon after a delicious lunch we will do an introductory walk, in a secondary forest and then in a primary forest full of huge trees and vines and creepers, at the same time we will talk about the most important economic activities of this region. Chances to see some brown capuchin monkeys and squirrel monkeys will be possible. At the end of the hike, we will climb the highest Canopy tower in Tambopata, a great place to see the Amazon basin, recommended to see the sunset from this point.
When it gets dark we will return to our lodge and leave with the boat to do one of the most exciting activities …caiman spotting, we will go looking for white and black caimans along the Tambopata river bank with a big flashlight, we can see more Capivaras (capybaras) and there is always the possibility of seeing an ocelot or a jaguar by the river.
On the way back we will have dinner and a good rest in our lodge.
