The tour begins with a transfer to Ollantaytambo, followed by a delicious breakfast before taking the train to Kilometer 104. From there, you’ll start a hike along a nature-filled trail, visiting places like Chachabamba, Wiñayhuayna, and finally Inti Punku, where you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of Machu Picchu. After exploring the ruins, you’ll arrive in Aguas Calientes to rest. On the second day, you’ll start early with a guided tour of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and have free time to explore on your own. Then, you’ll take the train back to Cusco, concluding this amazing adventure.
Arrival at Km 104 and hike through Wiñayhuayna and Inti Punku, with views of Machu Picchu
The first day begins very early. At 4:30 a.m., we will head by vehicle to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast to fuel up. Then, we’ll go to the train station, which will take us to Kilometer 104, the starting point of our hike.
From there, we’ll begin walking along a beautiful trail surrounded by mountains and lush vegetation. On the way, we’ll pass Chachabamba, an ancient Inca archaeological site located at 2,250 meters above sea level. Next, we’ll ascend to Wiñayhuayna, an impressive Inca site with agricultural terraces and ancient temples. Our guide will explain its history, and we’ll have time to enjoy the scenery.
As we hike, we’ll see the Urubamba River and many unique plants and flowers native to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. After a well-deserved break and a Box Lunch, we’ll continue toward a very special place: Inti Punku, or “The Sun Gate”. From this point, we’ll get our first panoramic view of Machu Picchu — a perfect moment to take unforgettable photos.
We will then descend to the Inca citadel, where we’ll admire the sunset over the ruins. Finally, we’ll take a bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we’ll rest in a hotel after a hearty dinner. Before going to sleep, we’ll meet with the guide to coordinate the next day’s visit.
IMPORTANT: To enter the Inca Trail, it is mandatory to bring the original passport used for your reservation. At Kilometer 104, park rangers will check your documents. If the information does not match, entry will not be allowed and your permit will be canceled.

Arrival at Machu Picchu, exploration of temples and terraces, with the option to climb Huayna Picchu
On this day, we will wake up very early to take the bus that will take us to Machu Picchu. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes.
Upon arrival, we’ll go through an entry checkpoint and then begin our guided exploration of this amazing wonder of the world. For about two hours, we’ll explore the great Inca citadel, visiting its impressive temples, buildings, sacred fountains, and agricultural terraces. Our guide will explain the history and significance of each of these places.
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to continue exploring Machu Picchu on your own. If you wish, you’ll also have the option to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, two viewpoints offering panoramic views of the citadel and its surroundings.
At the end of the visit, we’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where we will board the train bound for Ollantaytambo
