Humantay Lake Full Day

This exciting tour begins at 5:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We will head towards Mollepata, a picturesque town located two hours from the city, where we will enjoy a comforting breakfast while admiring the first light of the day over the mountains. This is the perfect moment to take some memorable photos and prepare for the adventure.

After breakfast, we will continue by car for 40 minutes until we reach Soraypampa (3,900 m.a.s.l.), the base camp of the famous Salkantay Route. Here, you will feel the powerful presence of the snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay mountains, whose towering peaks will leave you speechless. After a brief talk with our guide, we will begin the 1.5 to 2-hour hike to Humantay Lake.

The ascent is challenging but rewarding. We recommend bringing a trekking pole, taking your time, and staying hydrated, as you will be at high altitude. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Andean Mountain Range and breathe in the pure air of the Peruvian Andes.

Upon arriving at Humantay Lake, you will be amazed by its turquoise waters, which reflect the sky and the glacier that feeds them. You will have free time to explore, take photographs, and, if you are up for it, climb a bit higher up the rocky slopes to get even more breathtaking views. Our guide will share fascinating stories about the culture, history, and mysticism of this sacred place, and you will even have the opportunity to participate in a small gratitude ritual to nature using coca leaves.

The descent to Soraypampa will take approximately 1.5 hours, where a delicious typical lunch in Mollepata awaits us. Finally, we will begin our journey back to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m., with our hearts full of unforgettable memories.
