Day 1: Puno - floating islands(Uros) - Amantani.
After a quick, early morning Breakfast, you will be transferred to the boats on the lake which will take you to the floating islands.  You will embark by about 8:00 am. Our guide will teach you all about the customs and practices of this island culture.  The islands are made of a reed like plant named Totora,

which must be replaced periodically by adding new layers.  The homes and boats that they have are made of the same material.
Later on in the evening we will experience a little bit of their tradition as we eat an exquisite meal typical of the region.  Afterwards, we will continue on to the next island, Amantani Island.
Amantani Island is inhabited by Quechua and Aymara speaking natives who are entrenched in ancient customs, all day producing their native ceramics and textiles.  That night, we will actually stay on one of the islands with a family.  These are hospitable people that teach us of their ways and even let us participate in some of their practices.  We will eat supper with the family as well before going to sleep.  Be sure to dress warm because it gets drafty on the islands (though they will supply you with blankets). .

Day 2: Isla Amantani - Isla Taquile - Puno:
We will have a typical breakfast with our host family and then say our goodbyes.  We will depart by motor boat towards Taquile Island, which is also inhabited by indigenous peoples living in the ways of their fore fathers.
On this, the last island of the tour, we will watch as they weave garments with their looms. This culture not only speaks Quechua, but also practices the religion.  We will spend some time here with them while we take a rest and have out lunches.  In the evening, around 5:30 pm, we will return to Puno by boat.  We will transfer you from the port to your hotel.  End of Service.
